Two Riders Injured in Vermont Motorcycle Collision with Bear.

BURLINGTON, Vt. (LOCAL NEWS WIRE) – The University of Vermont (UVM) announced on Wednesday that Chris Feifs will step down as head coach of the men’s lacrosse team to become the associate head coach and defensive coordinator at Virginia.

Feifs, who joined UVM in Summer 2016, led the Catamounts to six America East Championship games and secured the program’s first America East title and NCAA Tournament berth in 2021. Under his leadership, Vermont also achieved its first NCAA Tournament victory in 2022 against Manhattan.

“On behalf of the Athletic Department, I want to thank Chris for his exceptional leadership,” said UVM Athletic Director Jeff Schulman. Feifs recorded 78 wins during his tenure, the most in program history.

Feifs expressed gratitude to his players, alumni, coaches, and UVM administration, stating, “This place will always be my second home.” He described his decade at UVM as the “single greatest growth period” of his life.

UVM has announced plans to begin a national search for his successor.
