Motorcyclist Killed in Pinellas County Crash
PINELLAS COUNTY, FL—A motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving two vehicles on Saturday at approximately 2:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 19 near 54th Avenue North.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a car changed lanes, striking the motorcycle, which resulted in a crash involving a pickup truck. The 40-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car and the occupants of the pickup reported minor injuries but refused medical attention.
Emergency responders from the Pinellas County Fire Rescue arrived shortly after the incident. Traffic was affected, with southbound U.S. 19 closed for roughly two hours as the investigation took place and debris was cleared from the roadway.
Authorities said an investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
