PONTE VEDRA, FL — A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on A1A near Ponte Vedra on Friday evening, resulting in one death and serious roadway impacts.
Authorities reported that the incident happened around 6:10 p.m. involving two vehicles—a motorcycle and a sedan. Emergency services, including the St. Johns County Fire Rescue and the Florida Highway Patrol, responded to the scene.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 45-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the location. The driver of the sedan sustained minor injuries and was treated on-site.
Officials closed all northbound lanes of A1A for more than two hours as investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash. As of 8:30 p.m., roadways began to reopen, but delays were expected as traffic resumed.
