Two Dead After Motorcycle Crash in Seattle on Sunday Afternoon
SEATTLE, WA — Two people died in a motorcycle accident on I-5 North near the James Street overpass at around 2:41 p.m. on Sunday.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the motorcycle was carrying two passengers when it lost control, resulting in the motorcycle and passenger being thrown from the overpass. The riders, a 35-year-old male and a 30-year-old female, sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
Emergency responders from the Seattle Fire Department and the Washington State Patrol arrived on the scene, where both individuals were pronounced dead. The crash site prompted the closure of the left lane for investigation and cleanup.
Authorities are investigating the incident, but no additional details regarding the cause of the crash have been released at this time. Towing services have removed the motorcycle from the scene.
The Washington State Patrol is asking witnesses to come forward as the investigation continues.
