Motorcyclist killed in collision with pickup truck on State Route 11 in Ashtabula County on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. when the motorcycle struck the truck while navigating southbound on State Route 11. The rider, identified as 45-year-old Joseph A.H. Langham of Akron, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Authorities reported that Langham was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver of the pickup truck remained unharmed. Emergency personnel, including local fire and medical services, responded promptly to the scene.
The southbound lanes of State Route 11 were closed for several hours as the scene was cleared and an investigation was conducted. There were no additional injuries reported, and towing services were called to remove the vehicles involved.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details regarding the cause of the collision.
