LINN COUNTY, Ore. — On Saturday, June 13, at approximately 10 p.m., a vehicle-versus-motorcycle crash occurred on Highway 164 near milepost 7.
Oregon State Police reported that a green Dodge Ram, driven by 47-year-old Jason Richard Jones of Albany, collided with a red Honda motorcycle operated by 41-year-old Christopher Adam Brown of Albany at the intersection with Scravel Hill Road.
Brown was declared dead at the scene, while Jones did not sustain injuries.
The highway remained closed for about three hours during the investigation.
Jones was arrested on charges of DUII, reckless driving, driving while suspended, and second-degree manslaughter, and is currently held at the Linn County Jail.
Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing.
The Oregon State Police received assistance from Jefferson Fire District, Albany Fire Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
