Motorcyclist Arrested Following Pursuit in Arkansas
Arkansas State Police arrested a motorcyclist following a high-speed chase on February 28, 2025.
According to authorities, the incident began when officers observed a Honda CBR1000 speeding in a 45 mph zone near Highway 10. The rider initially attempted to comply but then accelerated away, signaling a pursuit by Sgt. Stephen Briggs.
Dashcam footage confirmed that the motorcyclist, identified as 34-year-old Jeremy Jackson, drove into oncoming traffic and disregarded traffic signals. After waiting for about 10 seconds for Jackson to pull over, Sgt. Briggs executed a Precision Intervention Technique (PIT) maneuver, resulting in Jackson’s fall and subsequent arrest.
Emergency response teams were on standby but no injuries were reported to either party. Jackson was taken into custody without further incident.
Authorities noted that this type of pursuit tactic has raised safety concerns, with an investigation revealing 40 fatal incidents linked to PIT maneuvers in Arkansas and neighboring states from 2017 to 2024. The incident remains under review by the Arkansas State Police.
