Brenden Mendes Dies in Burrillville Motorcycle Crash at Broncos Highway and Lapham Farm Road

Burrillville, Rhodes Island (August 2, 2023) – Authorities have identified Brenden Mendes, 19, f Cumberland, was fatally injured in a crash Monday evening at an intersection in Burrillville.

According to the authorities, the wreck happened at around 6 p.m. on July 31 at the intersection of Broncos Highway and Lapham Farm Road.

According to police, a man driving a 2014 Toyota Camry when he veered onto Route 102 from Lapham Farm Road when Mendes slammed into the car.

Mendes was declared dead at the crash site.

Two occupants in the vehicle were transported to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The vehicle involved suffered front-end damage after the crash.

Authorities said the speed that Mendes was driving was a factor in the wreck.

An investigation is underway.
