Authorities identify seriously injured Tiverton woman and Hopkinton man in motorcycle crash.

A motorcycle crash in Hopkinton, Rhode Island, on Monday evening left two people seriously injured, police confirmed.

At approximately 6:15 p.m., Hopkinton Police responded to a report of the accident at the intersection of Spring Street and Charnley Avenue. The motorcycle operator, 39-year-old Kevin McDonald of Hopkinton, sustained severe facial trauma and was transported for medical assistance. His passenger, 33-year-old Katlyn Cook of Tiverton, was also taken to the hospital for evaluation of potential internal injuries.

According to Chief of Police Mark Carrier, preliminary investigations and witness statements indicate that McDonald was driving erratically westbound on Spring Street. He was reported to have passed two vehicles in a no-passing zone at a high rate of speed before colliding with a car making a left turn onto Charnley Avenue.

The incident is currently under investigation, with assistance from the Rhode Island State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. Authorities are requesting anyone with information about the crash to contact the Hopkinton Police Department.
