A 26-year-old man died early Sunday following a motorcycle crash on Highway C at Beauben Street in Bevier, Missouri.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on Oct. 4 in Macon County. The victim was riding a 2008 Harley-Davidson northbound when he failed to navigate a curve, causing the motorcycle to veer off the roadway.
The motorcycle struck an embankment, became airborne, and collided with a tree. The driver was ejected from the motorcycle. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a helmet or other safety equipment at the time of the incident.
Macon County Emergency Medical Services pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The motorcycle was deemed a total loss and was subsequently removed by the victim’s family. Patrol officials confirmed that the driver did not have insurance.
Trooper Willock is leading the investigation, with assistance from Troopers Harrison and Waite, Corporal Fuller, Sergeant Johnson, the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, and emergency medical personnel.
