Motorcycle Crash in Gilpin County Leaves Rider Seriously Injured

GILPIN COUNTY, CO – A motorcycle crash on Highway 6 near Golden resulted in serious injuries to a rider on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at approximately 7:21 p.m.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, the 47-year-old male motorcyclist lost control while traveling eastbound at milepost 268, sliding into a Honda CR-V. He was ejected and landed in the westbound lanes, where he was subsequently struck by an unknown vehicle, which dragged him approximately a half mile to one mile west of the initial impact.

Emergency responders from the Colorado State Patrol were on the scene, and the rider was taken to a medical facility for treatment of serious injuries. The westbound lanes of Highway 6 were closed for several hours as investigators examined the site.
