BOONE COUNTY, MO — A 30-year-old Columbia man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on Thursday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
At 2:50 p.m., the man was riding a 2003 Yamaha YZF-R1 southbound near 3550 Route M when he lost control. The motorcycle overturned, ejecting him and veering off the left side of the roadway, resulting in extensive damage to the vehicle.
Authorities said the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was transported to University Hospital by MU Health Care EMS for treatment.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No additional details regarding lane closures or the status of the roadway were released.
