CUSTER, S.D. (KOTA) – A 63-year-old man from Connecticut died in a motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 16A on Monday afternoon.
According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Robert Thomas Ryan of Durham was riding a 2002 Yamaha Super Hawk westbound near mile marker 27 when he lost control and entered the ditch at approximately 2:41 p.m.
Ryan was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries. Authorities confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The crash is under investigation, and further information is pending.
