Motorcycle Accident in North Huntingdon Claims One Life
NORTH HUNTINGDON, PA — A motorcycle accident on Route 30 near Malts Lane resulted in one fatality on October 11 at approximately 3:15 p.m.
Authorities reported that a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle collided, leading to the motorcyclist’s death at the scene. The victim, a 34-year-old male, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Two occupants in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and were treated at a local hospital.
Emergency responders from North Huntingdon Fire Department and local EMS arrived within minutes. The collision site was temporarily closed as investigators from the Westmoreland County Police Department assessed the scene and recorded evidence.
Officials indicated that both lanes of Route 30 were reopened by 5:30 p.m. following the completion of the investigation and towing of the involved vehicles. The investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing.
