Coroner Identifies Victim of Overnight Motorcycle Crash in Cambria County.

Authorities have confirmed the identity of a motorcyclist killed in a crash on Friday in Portage Township.

Coroner Jeff Lees identified the victim as 27-year-old Ryan Steele, of Portage Township. Steele was traveling south on his motorcycle when it left the roadway and struck a stop sign.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Shady Springs Road and Springhill Road around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Steele was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma to the head and neck. Authorities noted he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The coroner’s office has ruled the death accidental, with a toxicology report pending.

A fatal motorcycle accident occurred in Cambria County early Friday morning, resulting in one death.

The collision took place shortly before 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Springhill Road and Shady Springs Road in Portage Township.
