DC Region Experiences a Deadly Weekend with Fatal Crashes and Shootings.

Fatal Crashes and Shootings Shake DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware Region

Multiple fatal incidents, including crashes and shootings, occurred over the weekend across Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware.

In Bowie, Maryland, a single-engine Piper Cherokee plane crashed late Saturday, claiming the lives of three men onboard around 11:30 p.m., according to Maryland State Police. The aircraft was en route from Ocean City, New Jersey, to Montgomery County Airpark in Gaithersburg.

In Rockville, two Honda motorcycles collided on Norbeck Road around 1:16 a.m. Sunday. One motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second rider remained unharmed. The Montgomery County Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating.

Delaware State Police reported a fatal e-bike crash on Coastal Highway near Rehoboth Beach, involving a 66-year-old woman from Potomac, Maryland, on Saturday around 11:30 a.m. The rider was struck by a GMC Sierra 2500 and later pronounced dead at a hospital. The 64-year-old driver from Perryville was uninjured.

In Capitol Heights, Maryland, a woman died following a shooting late Friday night, with police responding to the 1400 block of Doewood Lane just after 11 p.m. She was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Fairfax County that occurred shortly after 2:15 a.m. on Sunday. Two of the three occupants died at the scene when the vehicle struck a tree and went down an embankment.

In Washington, D.C., a moped rider was killed after being struck by a vehicle involved in a police chase on Rock Creek Parkway on Saturday around 5:40 p.m. Authorities have arrested three individuals in connection with the incident.

D.C. police are also investigating the death of a 20-year-old man found shot inside a car in the 1400 block of Bruce Place SE on Saturday around 11:50 a.m. No arrests have been made.

Authorities are continuing their investigations into these incidents.
