Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of 42-Year-Old Dispatcher in Waterbury
WATERBURY, VT — Karen Crossett, 42, of Orange, died in a motorcycle accident on June 26 at approximately 10:30 a.m. on I-89.
Authorities reported that Crossett left the roadway and struck a guardrail for reasons that remain unclear. She was pronounced dead at the scene, with her 2019 Kawasaki Ninja declared a total loss by police.
The Middlesex Police Barracks responded to the incident, with assistance from the Waterbury Fire Department and Waterbury Rescue. Crossett served as a dispatcher for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and the Vermont State Police, with over 20 years of service to law enforcement in the state.
Sheriff Bill Bohnyak expressed condolences, stating, “Karen will be greatly missed.” Vermont State Police noted her competence and infectious sense of humor in a tribute post.
