SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – An Aberdeen man died in a two-vehicle crash on I-29 near mile marker 88 on Thursday, March 12.
James Knapp, 56, was traveling south when he came to a complete stop in the driving lane, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety. He was struck from behind by a Peterbilt semi truck.
Knapp’s vehicle came to rest in the west ditch, and he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
