PHOENIX – A motorcycle crash on the South Mountain Loop 202 eastbound off-ramp at Desert Foothills Parkway resulted in one fatality on August 7.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, two motorcyclists were traveling at a high rate of speed when they failed to negotiate the curve of the ramp. Both lost control and were ejected from their motorcycles. One rider was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The off-ramp was temporarily closed following the incident but has since been reopened.
No names have been released in connection with the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
