Father dies in motorcycle crash while honoring late daughter during memorial ride.

MEADOW LAKES, Alaska (KTUU/Gray News) – Timothy Hoffman, 58, died Sunday after losing control of his motorcycle on the Parks Highway during a memorial ride for his daughter.

According to Alaska State Troopers, the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. near mile 49, close to South Rainbow Street. Hoffman lost control of his motorcycle, rolling into the center median.

Hoffman was participating in an annual memorial ride for his daughter, Cynthia, who was murdered in 2019. He was riding with his wife, Jeannie, at the time of the crash. Both were found unresponsive and were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Timothy Hoffman was pronounced dead at the hospital, while Jeannie remains in critical condition. Troopers noted that he was not wearing a helmet during the incident.

The Parks Highway was closed for approximately two and a half hours as police investigated. Traffic was diverted to an adjacent frontage road.

This accident coincided with the five-year anniversary of Cynthia’s murder, and the memorial ride began in Anchorage, with notable stops, including the Victims for Justice Memorial.

The crash investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not disclosed further details regarding its cause.

Cynthia Hoffman was 19 years old when she was killed. Two of her murderers have been sentenced to 99 years, while the other two await sentencing.
