ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Timothy Hoffman, 58, lost control of his motorcycle on the Parks Highway during a memorial ride on June 2, 2024.
According to Alaska State Troopers, Hoffman crashed near mile 49, rolling into the center median. His passenger, his wife Jeannie, was critically injured.
Both were notified to authorities around 1:30 p.m. and found unresponsive. Timothy Hoffman was pronounced dead at the hospital, while Jeannie remains in critical condition, troopers said.
The motorcycle accident occurred roughly two miles from a party in Big Lake, following a memorial stop at the Victims for Justice Memorial and Thunderbird Falls.
Troopers reported he was not wearing a helmet, while his wife was. The Parks Highway was closed for two-and-a-half hours due to the crash, with traffic diverted to a nearby frontage road.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Timothy Hoffman’s death coincides with the five-year anniversary of his daughter Cynthia’s murder near Thunderbird Falls in 2019.
Donald Hoffman Jr. established an account at Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union to support his brother’s family with medical and household expenses. The account number is 191814.
