Motorcyclist Dies After Collision on Route 210 in Indian Head
A 32-year-old motorcyclist was fatally injured in a collision on Route 210 near Jenkins Lane on Sunday, May 3, around 7:40 p.m.
The motorcyclist, identified as Harry Washington III of Indian Head, was struck by an orange 2013 Dodge Dart. A 9-year-old girl, a passenger on the motorcycle, was also airlifted to a hospital; her condition is currently unknown. Washington later succumbed to his injuries.
According to investigators, the Dodge Dart entered the southbound lanes, colliding with Washington’s motorcycle before the driver and passenger fled on foot. Witnesses reported that the passenger, identified as 24-year-old Jose Osmin Orellana Santamaria from White Plains, returned to the area to seek medical assistance.
Authorities are actively searching for the driver of the Dodge Dart. Police encourage anyone with information to contact Sgt. Justin Zimmerman at (301) 392-1200.
