A 23-year-old man died after crashing a motorcycle on I-55 south of Hwy. Z near Pevely early on Oct. 17, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:54 a.m. when the rider, operating a northbound 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400, lost control and was ejected. Emergency responders with Joachim-Plattin EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
Authorities stated that the victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The motorcycle sustained extensive damage. The body was transported to the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office by Edwards Mortuary Service.
No additional information about the incident or its cause has been released, and the investigation remains ongoing. Lane closures were not reported in connection with this incident.
