Former Anaheim Ducks Forward Nic Kerdiles Dies in Motorcycle Crash
NASHVILLE, TN — Nic Kerdiles, a 29-year-old former forward for the Anaheim Ducks, died in a motorcycle accident early Saturday.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. in a residential area, where Kerdiles reportedly ran a stop sign while riding his Indian motorcycle. He collided with the driver’s side of a BMW.
Emergency responders pronounced Kerdiles dead at the scene. The driver of the BMW sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The Anaheim Ducks confirmed Kerdiles’ passing in a statement on social media, expressing their condolences to his family and friends. Kerdiles, an Irvine native, became the first player from Orange County to join the Ducks in 2017.
He was selected 36th overall in the second round of the 2012 NHL Draft by the Ducks and played in three games for the team between 2016 and 2018.
The Nashville Police Department is conducting an investigation into the crash. Further details regarding lane closures or tows have not been released.
