Former mayor and Motorcycle Week executive director recovering from Ohio accident.

State Representative Charlie St. Clair Hospitalized Following Motorcycle Accident in Avon, Ohio

Lake Region, NH — Charlie St. Clair, a state representative and former Laconia mayor, was critically injured in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 90 West in Avon, Ohio, on the evening of October 10.

According to authorities, the accident occurred due to a tire malfunction, and no other vehicles were involved. St. Clair, 50, is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where he is receiving treatment for severe injuries.

Deputy Director Jenn Anderson, who has been by St. Clair’s side, confirmed that two nurses who were traveling behind St. Clair provided immediate assistance at the scene. “Assessment is ongoing due to swelling, but the injuries are extensive,” Anderson stated.

St. Clair was en route to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota for his 50th consecutive year when the incident occurred. Community members and organizations, including the Laconia Motorcycle Association, are rallying support through social media.

“Thank you to the Avon Police Department and emergency responders for their swift action,” the Laconia Motorcycle Association posted on Facebook. “Our thoughts are with Charlie and his loved ones during this difficult time.”

Local leaders, including Mayor Mike Bordes, have expressed their support for St. Clair, calling him a beloved figure in the community. “We all know Charlie. He’s done a lot for Laconia,” Bordes said.

The Laconia Motorcycle Association is expected to provide updates on St. Clair’s condition as they become available.
