GoFundMe for Phil Breidall Surpasses $26,000 Following Zumbrota Crash.

Goodhue, MN (KROC-AM News) – A Go Fund Me campaign has been launched for 35-year-old Phillip Carl Breidall, who sustained severe leg injuries in a motorcycle crash on August 12.

The incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. at the interchange of Hwy. 52 and Hwy. 57, north of Zumbrota. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Breidall was traveling south on Hwy. 57 when he collided with a northbound vehicle making a left turn onto the Hwy. 52 northbound onramp.

The car driver, identified as 39-year-old Jessica Ann Wetzstein of Wanamingo, was unharmed. Breidall suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and was airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment.

As a result of his injuries, Breidall had his lower left leg amputated and may require three additional surgeries, according to the Go Fund Me page. The fundraiser notes that Breidall and his family face extensive rehabilitation and recovery challenges.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the campaign has raised over $26,000 towards a goal of $35,000. Funds will assist with medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, prosthetics, lost income, and necessary adaptations for home and vehicle accessibility.

“We want to express our gratitude to everyone who has prayed, donated, and reached out,” an update from the fundraiser stated.
