HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — A motorcycle crash in eastern Henrico County on Saturday night resulted in the death of a 26-year-old male rider, authorities confirmed.
The incident occurred around 9:35 p.m. at the intersection of North Airport Drive and Airport Place, near Highland Springs High School. The motorcycle driver, identified as Hunter Southard, of Henrico, was found in the roadway with severe injuries and pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Henrico Police, Southard was traveling north on North Airport Drive when he collided with a southbound sedan that was making a left turn onto Airport Place. The sedan’s driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Investigators have stated that, at this time, there is no evidence to suggest speed or alcohol were factors in the crash regarding the sedan’s driver.
