A fatal crash on I-70 in Montgomery County closed westbound lanes for multiple hours on Monday afternoon.
At 1:48 p.m., a collision involving a motorcycle and a box truck was reported near the 182.2-mile marker, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Both motorcycle occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a previous vehicle fire that had temporarily closed westbound I-70 at the 177-mile marker, the westbound lanes remained blocked past Exit 183 to an outer road, as noted by the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Emergency response teams have initiated an investigation into the crash. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes, as lane closures are expected to last approximately two hours.
