Stagecoach Crash Claims Life of Juvenile Dirt Biker
STAGECOACH, NV — A juvenile male died in a collision between a dirt bike and a van on US-50 eastbound at Scenic Avenue on Sunday afternoon, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP).
Authorities reported that the dirt bike rider failed to yield while attempting to enter US-50, resulting in the crash with the eastbound van. Medical personnel pronounced the rider dead at the scene.
Eastbound traffic on US-50 is currently being detoured at Scenic Avenue, with lane closures expected for approximately two hours. NHP urges motorists to exercise caution in the area as the investigation continues.
Two-Vehicle Accident Involving Cattle Truck
In a separate incident, US-50 is closed at Topaz Street due to a crash involving a pickup with a travel trailer and a cattle truck near Ramsey Weeks Cutoff in Silver Springs. The driver of the pickup sustained minor injuries, and three cows were reported dead.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the pickup was westbound and attempted a left turn onto Ramsey Weeks, colliding with the eastbound cattle truck. The impact caused the travel trailer to overturn.
Authorities expect the road closure at US-50 and Topaz Street to last for about two hours as the investigation proceeds.
