WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A motorcycle accident at the Kansas-Oklahoma state line resulted in the death of a 37-year-old Arkansas City man on Sunday night.
The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office reported the collision occurred just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of 332nd Road and U.S. Highway 77, located north of the state line. The victim, identified as Shawn Calhoun, was riding a motorcycle on U.S. 77 when a car, attempting to turn south onto the highway, struck him.
Calhoun was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car, a 34-year-old woman from Newkirk, Oklahoma, sustained no injuries.
