Kennewick Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 244 in Oregon
Kennewick, Wash. — An 84-year-old Kennewick man died following a motorcycle crash on Highway 244, west of La Grande, Oregon, on Wednesday, according to the Oregon State Police.
Marvin Joseph Mason was operating a BMW motorcycle when he left the roadway and crashed near the Grande Ronde River around 1 p.m. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, but the cause of why Mason veered off the road remains unclear.
Mason was riding with 73-year-old Dean Allen Moore of Richland. When Moore realized Mason was no longer behind him, he retraced his route and located Mason and the crashed motorcycle. Emergency medical response was unable to reach Mason in time, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and no additional injuries or vehicle involvement have been reported.
