Laconia Bike Week leader and lawmaker Charlie St. Clair dies in motorcycle accident.

LACONIA, NH—State Representative Charlie St. Clair, head of Laconia Motorcycle Week for 35 years, passed away on August 22 after injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Ohio on August 4.

According to the Laconia Motorcycle Week Association, St. Clair suffered catastrophic injuries from a tire issue while traveling to Sturgis, South Dakota. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to heart failure related to these injuries.

St. Clair, a longtime resident of Laconia, was also a member of the city’s Planning Board and owned the Laconia Antique Center. He served in the New Hampshire House from 2017 to 2020 and was part of the House Transportation Committee.

Elected officials, including Laconia Mayor Mike Bordes and Governor Kelly Ayotte, expressed condolences to St. Clair’s family and praised his contributions to the community.
