LAPD Officer Hospitalized Following Crash on 405 Freeway in West LA
A Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer was hospitalized after a crash on the southbound 405 Freeway near I-10 on Sunday night.
The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) incident log. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department transported the officer to a nearby hospital in fair to serious condition.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the possibility of a hit-and-run. All southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway were closed due to a SigAlert at 6:25 p.m. and reopened around 8:15 p.m.
Traffic was reported to be backed up for miles as officers worked the scene and conducted their preliminary investigation.
