Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) – A 32-year-old Lockport man died after a motorcycle accident on the Elm Street on-ramp to I-190 on Wednesday evening.
New York State Police responded to the scene at approximately 5 p.m. According to authorities, Galen Owens was riding a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle when he collided with a concrete barrier.
The impact caused both Owens and the motorcycle to become airborne, resulting in a fall of approximately 42 feet under the I-190 overpass. Owens was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body has been transported to the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, and no additional injuries were reported. The northbound lanes of I-190 were temporarily closed during the emergency response and investigation.
