A motorcycle crash on Lower Woodville Road near Briarwood Drive resulted in the death of James Hilliard, 56, on Sept. 15 at 7:50 p.m.
According to Chief Best, Hilliard was traveling west when a driver heading east attempted to turn left onto Briarwood Drive, colliding with Hilliard’s motorcycle. The impact caused him to lose control and be struck by a second vehicle, which was traveling east on Lower Woodville Road.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the second vehicle was not at fault in the incident. Emergency services responded to the scene, but Hilliard was pronounced dead following the crash.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is ongoing.
