WALTON, Ky. (WXIX) – A motorcycle crash in Boone County on Sunday evening resulted in one fatality.
The incident occurred at 6:42 p.m. in the 11000 block of Dixie Highway.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Schulze, 47, of Williamstown, was traveling southbound when he failed to navigate a left-hand curve, leaving the roadway.
Schulze struck a culvert and then collided with a metal gate, which caused him to be ejected from the motorcycle.
Deputies confirmed Schulze was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, noting speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors.
