Williamsport Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on I-81 in Virginia
A 60-year-old Williamsport man died Sunday, July 5, in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 81 in Frederick County, Virginia, according to Virginia State Police.
Curtis Cunningham Jr. was identified as the deceased. Authorities said two state troopers observed two motorcycles traveling at high speeds northbound on I-81 around 3:46 p.m. During an attempted stop, one motorcycle complied, while Cunningham’s motorcycle fled, prompting a pursuit.
Cunningham continued for approximately two to three miles before colliding with two pickup trucks, resulting in him being ejected from the motorcycle. He died at the scene.
The incident is under investigation. No further details regarding injuries to the occupants of the pickup trucks have been released.
Additionally, Virginia State Police are handling the investigation while emergency responders managed the crash scene.
