Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Ellicott City Man
A motorcycle crash in Howard County on June 28 resulted in the death of 31-year-old Thomas Jozef O’Halloran. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Baltimore National Pike near Frederick Road.
Authorities stated O’Halloran was riding a 2008 Yamaha FZ1 when he lost control and left the eastbound lanes, resulting in him being thrown from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Witnesses reported that speed might have been a contributing factor, but an investigation is ongoing as officials gather more information.
O’Halloran’s twin brother, Nicholas, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses, stating, “Our family is working through an incredibly difficult time, trying to process the loss of someone who meant so much to us.” As of Tuesday afternoon, the campaign has raised over $9,000.
Visitation for O’Halloran is set for July 5 at Harry H. Witzke’s Family Funeral Home in Ellicott City, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on July 6 at the Church of the Resurrection.
Authorities continue to investigate the factors leading to the crash.
