Motorcycle crash in Warren injures two and sends them to hospitals.

WARREN — A serious motorcycle crash involving a minivan occurred on Atlantic Highway at 12:26 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, a black 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling northbound when a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country minivan allegedly pulled out from a driveway, striking the motorcycle.

The operator of the minivan received treatment at the scene and was released. The motorcycle operator sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, while a passenger on the motorcycle was airlifted to Eastern Maine Medical Center by LifeFlight of Maine.

LifeFlight landed at Medomak Valley High School just after 1 p.m., which served as the designated landing zone. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.

Atlantic Highway was temporarily restricted during emergency response and initial accident reconstruction efforts. Witnesses reported emergency personnel from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Warren Fire Department, and Waldoboro EMS were on-site to assist.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the incident and is working to confirm the identities of those involved. Further details will be released as they become available.
