A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash on I-495 in Mansfield, Massachusetts, on Saturday evening.
Authorities reported the incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. on the ramp connecting I-495 north to Route 140 north. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the motorcyclist unconscious alongside the highway.
During treatment at the scene, the victim went into cardiac arrest but was successfully resuscitated using the Mansfield Fire Department’s whole blood transfusion protocol. The motorcyclist was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
The Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash. As of now, details regarding the cause remain undisclosed, and the investigation is ongoing.
