(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A fatal motorcycle collision occurred on Fillmore Street on June 1, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old rider.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), the incident took place at approximately 8 a.m. at the intersection of East Fillmore Street and North Prospect Street. A car traveling eastbound attempted to execute an unprotected left turn into a parking lot and collided with a westbound motorcycle.
The driver of the car sustained no injuries; however, the motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The Major Crash Team responded for further investigation, and the cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
On June 2, the El Paso County Coroner identified the deceased rider as Dawson Debolt. This incident marks the 25th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs for 2026, in contrast to 16 fatalities at the same time last year.
