Motorcyclist airlifted with serious injuries after Glenn Highway crash.

All lanes on the Glenn Highway near Eklutna reopened around 6 p.m. on Thursday following multiple vehicle collisions, according to Anchorage Police.

At least three accidents occurred on the outbound highway, with emergency crews dispatched shortly after 4:45 p.m. Chugiak Fire Chief Clifton Dalton confirmed four vehicles were involved in the first crash, resulting in only minor injuries.

A subsequent incident involving a motorcycle occurred shortly after, with the rider transported to a hospital via LifeMed helicopter due to serious injuries. All outbound lanes were closed for approximately 20 minutes to facilitate the medevac, Dalton said.

A single lane was reopened for traffic after the helicopter operation, but delays continued as responders dealt with other incidents. Firefighters attended a third collision around 5:30 p.m.; details of that crash remain unavailable.

Authorities reported significant delays on the Glenn Highway and advised drivers to expect continued slow traffic.
