ORANGE PARK, Fla. — A motorcycle crash with a pickup truck on Moody Avenue resulted in one fatality late Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred as both vehicles were traveling in the same direction. The motorcycle was attempting to pass the pickup truck on the left when the truck made a left turn. The motorcycle, carrying two individuals, collided with the truck.
The motorcycle’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital. The pickup truck, which had two occupants, did not report any injuries.
Authorities have closed all lanes of Moody Avenue at Whipple Avenue as the FHP continues its investigation into the incident. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office urges motorists to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.
