CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – A motorcycle crash on March 15 at 3:12 p.m. at 5th St. Ext. and Fifth Street Station Pkwy. resulted in the death of a 31-year-old male motorcyclist.
Officials identified the deceased as Joseph Strouth, a resident of Charlottesville. The driver of the second vehicle remained on-site and is cooperating with law enforcement.
The Charlottesville Police Department’s Traffic Unit and General Investigations Bureau responded to the incident, which is now under active investigation in conjunction with the Charlottesville Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. Lane closures were implemented at the scene.
Authorities stated that further updates will be released as the investigation progresses.
