AUBURN, Maine – A motorcyclist died in a collision with an SUV on Washington Street on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:40 a.m. while both vehicles were traveling southbound. According to the police, the SUV changed lanes, and the motorcyclist collided with its rear.
Authorities reported that the motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the bike and landed near a guardrail. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.
The SUV veered off the road into nearby woods; however, the driver sustained no injuries.
The crash is under investigation, and no further details regarding potential lane closures or tows have been provided.
