Update: Motorcyclist Killed in Crash ID’D as 26-Year-Old Man
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) – A motorcycle crash resulting in a fatality occurred shortly after 11 a.m. at the intersection of 40th Street Southeast, Woodlake Drive, and the entrance ramp to northbound South Broadway.
According to Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson, the crash involved a motorcycle and an SUV. The adult male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, though his identity remains undisclosed. The SUV driver sustained no injuries.
The eastbound lanes of 40th Street Southeast from the South Broadway ramp to Saint Bridget Road Southeast were closed for approximately 2.5 hours as the Police Department’s Forensic Mapping Unit processed the scene. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Department of Transportation also responded to assist.
Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
