Motorcyclist Dies in Collision with Pickup Truck on Highway 226 in Linn County.

A 29-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 226 on Friday night, July 31, 2026, according to Oregon State Police.

Emergency responders were called to the scene at approximately 9:41 p.m., where a blue Ford 350 pickup truck and a Harley Davidson motorcycle collided near milepost 11. Authorities said the pickup, driven by 77-year-old Arthur Vernon Roberts of Lebanon, attempted to turn onto Richardson Gap Road and turned into the path of the eastbound motorcycle.

The motorcycle struck the front end of the pickup, ejecting the rider, Tanner Kolten Henderson, 29, of Gates, into a ditch. The pickup came to a stop blocking the intersection.

Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene. Roberts was reportedly uninjured, remained at the scene, and cooperated with investigators.

According to OSP, Highway 226 was closed for approximately two hours during the investigation. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information has been released.

Assisting agencies included the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Lebanon Fire District, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
