SUFFOLK, Va. — A motorcyclist died following a two-vehicle crash on Bridge Road early Friday morning, according to Suffolk police.
At approximately 6:26 a.m., police responded to the incident at the 4700 block of Bridge Road, near the I-664 southbound entrance ramp. Both the motorcycle and operator were on fire, and emergency crews extinguished the flames before transporting the motorcyclist to a local hospital, where he later died.
Authorities reported that a work truck traveling northbound on Bridge Road made a left turn toward the I-664 southbound entrance ramp, leading to the collision.
The motorcyclist, identified as 35-year-old Wayne Ripson, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash, police confirmed.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, authorities said.
