Motorcycle Rider Killed in Cajon Pass Crash on I-15
CAJON PASS, CA—A motorcycle rider died following a crash on southbound Interstate 15 on August 7, 2026, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident occurred around 12:58 p.m., approximately one mile past the newly opened truck scales. Initial reports indicate that a vehicle swerved to avoid a collision, prompting the motorcycle rider to lose control and strike a truck in the slow lane.
Emergency responders arrived to find the rider unresponsive and pronounced them dead at the scene.
Traffic on I-15 was backed up at least 8 miles, with only one lane remaining open. Authorities urged drivers to seek alternate routes while the investigation continued.
