A motorcyclist died Saturday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash on La. Highway 22 in Tangipahoa Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
The victim, identified as Caleb Milton, 28, of Ponchatoula, was riding eastbound when a westbound driver in a 2020 Jeep Wrangler attempted to turn into a private driveway. The Jeep turned left into Milton’s path around 3 p.m., leading him to collide with its right side. He then crossed into the westbound lane, striking a Nissan Murano traveling behind the Jeep.
Milton, who was wearing a helmet, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. The driver of the Nissan suffered minor injuries and also received medical attention, while the Jeep’s driver was uninjured. Both drivers of the vehicles were wearing seat belts, authorities said.
State Police are conducting an investigation into the crash, including assessing whether impairment was a factor.
